Referrals in Veterinary Ophthalmology
Who are we?
Optivet Referrals was opened in 2006 by Robert Lowe. Robert had been running a successful ophthalmology referral clinic as part of a first opinion practice. In order to improve the care and treatment of his patients and increase the range of services, he decided to move to new premises dedicated to referral work and away from the hustle and bustle of a general veterinary practice.
What services do we offer?
Ophthalmology We perform an extensive range of ocular examinations and surgical procedures. We are able to test your pet’s vision and undertake procedures such as cataract surgery using the latest equipment and techniques. Our commitment to your pet’s health means we have invested in up to date equipment and we are able to offer the latest techniques such as laser surgery for glaucoma.
Procedures and types of surgeries offered include:
- Extensive eye examination
- Emergency cases
- Eyelid reconstruction
- Cataract extraction and intraocular lens placement
- Glaucoma implants and laser surgery
- Retinal detachment surgery
- Ocular tumour diagnosis, staging and treatment
Where are we based?
We are based on the South Coast of England in Emsworth which is a lovely village between Portsmouth and Chichester. We have excellent road links with both the A3 and the M/A27 nearby. We are also a fifteen minute walk from Emsworth Railway Station
What are our opening hours?
We are open from 8.30am until 5.30pm Monday to Friday but we are available for emergencies 24 hours a day 365 days a year and can be contacted out of hours by phoning the clinic and following the instructions given.
