Sara graduated from the University of Wales Swansea in 2005 with a bachelors of science with honours in Zoology. She then returned to Cornwall to complete a two-year apprenticeship at Duchy College Rosewarne in Veterinary Nursing. Sara qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2007.
Sara has had a varied veterinary career working both in the UK and abroad. She has experience working in lots of different environments from wildlife rehabilitation centres, zoos and farms to small animal practices, emergency and critical care units, and charity practices.
Sara joined Optivet in 2017 as a clinical nurse and has since become the Pharmacy Lead, heading up the combined Pharmacy and Lab department as well as overseeing clinical consumables procurement.
In life outside of work Sara can often be found residing in 5th century England in the company of her rescue dog, a Saxon war band and a mountain of sheep fleece that she is slowly turning into various garments and accessories. Should any marauding Picts or Scandinavians turn up, her longbow is never far from her reach.
